【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversproceduresforevaluationofstresscorrosioncracking(SCC)resistancebythebreakingloadtestmethod,aconceptwhichusesresidualstrengthasthemeasureofdamageevolution(inthiscaseenvironmentallyassistedcracking).1.2Thistestmethodcoversspecimentypeandreplication,testenvironment,stresslevels,exposureperiods,finalstrengthdetermination,andstatisticalanalysisoftherawresidualstrengthdata.1.3Thetestmethodwasdevelopedforusewithheat-treatablealuminumalloys,thatis,2XXXalloysand7XXXwith1.2to3.0%Cu,andtestspecimensorientedintheshort-transversedirectionrelativetograinstructure(,).However,theresidualstrengthmeasurementsandthestatisticsusedtoanalyzethedataarenotspecifictoheat-treatablealuminumalloysandcanbeusedforotherspecimenorientationsanddifferenttypesofmaterials.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
