【摘要】:Shrinkageisameasureofthenonvolatilesolidsofanoil-orresin-basecompound.Acompoundthatexhibitsexcessiveshrinkagemayhaveatendencytocrackorshinkfromthesidesofajointwheninservice.Tenacityisthemeasureoftheflexibilityofanoil-orresin-basecaulkingcompound.Oil-orresin-basecaulkingcompoundsthatcureexcessivelyhardanddonotremainflexiblemayfailprematurelybecauseoftheinabilitytoabsorbmovement.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesalaboratoryprocedurefordeterminingtheshrinkageofoil-andresin-base(Note)caulkingcompounds,aswellastheevaluationofthetenacitypropertyofsuchcompounds.Thistestmethodisapplicabletobothgun(TypeI)andknife(TypeII)grades.Note18212;Thisisnotasuitabletestmethodforwater-baseproducts.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3ThesubcommitteewithjurisdictionisnotawareofanysimilarISOstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
